Report & Block

See something wrong? Report it and block them.

On almost every app you can report a person and block them in just a few taps. This page shows you exactly where to find those buttons on the apps you use, and who to contact when it's a serious crime. You don't have to handle it alone.

The 4 steps that work on any app

Do these in order. They apply whether it's bullying, a scam, a creepy stranger or a threat.

  1. Save the evidence first

Before you block, screenshot the person's username, profile link, the messages, and the date and time. Don't delete anything. If it's a crime, police will need it.

  2. Report them in the app

Open their profile, post or message and look for the ⋯ (more) or ⚙ (settings) icon, then choose Report. Pick the closest reason — harassment, impersonation, a scam, or child safety.

  3. Block the account

In that same ⋯ menu, choose Block. On most apps the person is not told they were blocked.

  4. Escalate a serious crime, and tell a trusted adult

Sextortion, nude images of anyone under 18, threats, stalking, or someone trying to meet you? Report to the authorities below and tell a parent, counselor or school resource officer right away.

Reporting in the app is not enough for a crime. These are free. Full hotline list on Get Help.
